What are the Types of Laser Cutting
Laser cutting is simply the use of high power and high density laser beam after focusing the workpiece, so that the irradiated material melting, gasification, or to reach the point of ignition, and the beam coaxial air flow blown off the molten material, to achieve a processing method of cutting parts. They fall into the following categories:
(a) laser melting cutting
In laser melting cutting, the workpiece is partially melted and the molten material is ejected by means of an air stream. Because the transfer of material occurs only in its liquid state, the process is called laser melting cutting.
(b) laser flame cutting
Laser flame cutting differs from laser melt cutting in that oxygen is used as the cutting gas. By means of the interaction between oxygen and the heated metal, a chemical reaction occurs that heats the material further. Because of this effect, for the same thickness of structural steel, the cutting rate obtained by this method is higher than that by melting cutting.
(c) laser gasification cutting
In the process of laser gasification cutting, material gasification occurs at the slit, which requires very high laser power.
