Fiber laser marking machine marking full strategy

In modern manufacturing, fiber laser marking machines are widely used in various fields due to their advantages of high precision, high speed, and high stability. Whether it's the fine markings on electronic components or the traceability codes on automotive parts, their presence is indispensable. Today, let's delve into how to use a fiber laser marking machine for marking.
1、 Preparation work before operation
1. Equipment placement and environmental inspection
Place the fiber laser marking machine on a stable, dry, and clean workbench, ensuring that there are no strong vibration or interference sources around, such as staying away from large motor equipment, welding machines, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation, suitable temperature and humidity in the working environment. Generally, the temperature is controlled between 15 ℃ and 35 ℃, and the humidity is between 30% and 70%.
2. Power connection and equipment inspection
Carefully check if the power cord of the equipment is damaged, connect the power cord correctly according to the equipment manual, turn on the power switch of the equipment after connecting the power supply. At this point, the device will perform a self check, paying attention to the status of the indicator lights on the device panel and whether there are any abnormal alarm sounds. At the same time, check whether the fiber optic cable is bent or damaged to ensure normal fiber optic transmission.
3. Fixing the marked items
According to the shape, size, and material of the item to be marked, select the appropriate fixture and firmly fix it on the marking workbench. Ensure that the item does not shift during the marking process to ensure marking accuracy. For example, for small metal parts, magnetic fixtures can be used; For plastic products, customized plastic fixtures can be used.
2、 Marking software settings
1. Software startup and interface familiarity
After connecting the computer to the fiber laser marking machine through a data cable, open the marking software. The interface of marking software from different brands may vary, but the basic functions are similar. The general software interface will have menu bars such as file, edit, parameter settings, preview, etc. It is recommended to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the functions and operation methods of each menu when using it for the first time.
2. Enter the marking content
Select the "Text" or "Graphics" tool in the software, enter the text content that needs to be marked, such as product model, production date, QR code, etc. You can also import pre designed vector graphics or bitmap. If it is input text, you can set the font, size, spacing, etc; For imported graphics, it may be necessary to make appropriate adjustments such as scaling, rotation, etc. to meet the marking requirements.
3. Set marking parameters
The setting of marking parameters is crucial as it directly affects the marking effect and efficiency. Common marking parameters include laser power, frequency, marking speed, filling density, etc.
Laser power: The higher the power, the deeper the marking depth, but too high may cause the material surface to burn. Generally, adjustments are made based on the material thickness and marking depth requirements. For example, when marking thin metal sheets, the power can be set at 20% -40%; Marking thick metal parts, the power can be appropriately increased to 50% -70%.
• Frequency: The frequency determines the density of laser pulses, and higher frequencies are suitable for fine marking, which can make the lines smoother; Lower frequencies can achieve deeper marking depth. Usually selected between 20kHz and 80kHz.
Marking speed: The faster the speed, the higher the marking efficiency, but it may result in shallower marking depth and thinner lines. For ordinary marking requirements, the speed can be set between 500mm/s and 2000mm/s.
• Fill density: Fill density affects the color depth and coverage of the marking area. The higher the density, the darker and more solid the marking effect. Generally adjusted between 0.05mm and 0.2mm.
4. Preview and fine-tuning
After completing the marking content input and parameter settings, click the "Preview" button in the software to view the marking effect. At this point, carefully check whether the marking content is correct, whether the position is appropriate, and whether the overall effect meets expectations. If there are any problems, make timely adjustments in the software, such as adjusting text positions, modifying parameter values, etc., until the preview effect is satisfactory.
3、 Marking operation process
1. Focusing operation
Turn on the red light indicator function of the marking machine, and adjust the lifting device of the marking head to focus the red light on the surface of the marked item. At this point, observing the spot formed by the red light, the smaller and clearer the spot, the more accurate the focusing. You can also use a piece of white paper placed at the marking position to assist in focusing by observing the size and clarity of the light spot on the white paper.
2. Start marking
After confirming the accuracy of the focus, the accuracy of the marking content and parameters, press the "Start" button on the marking machine operation panel, and the equipment will start marking. During the marking process, pay attention to observing the operation status of the equipment to ensure a smooth and normal marking process. At this point, the laser beam will scan the surface of the item according to the preset path and parameters, completing the marking task.
4、 Inspection and equipment maintenance after marking
1. Inspection of marking effect
After marking is completed, carefully remove the marked item and use a magnifying glass or microscope to check the marking effect. Check whether the marking content is clear and complete, whether the lines are smooth, and whether the depth meets the requirements. If the marking effect is found to be unsatisfactory, such as blurry text, missing patterns, etc., analyze the reasons and readjust the parameters or proceed with marking. Possible reasons include improper parameter settings, inaccurate focusing, equipment malfunctions, etc.
2. Equipment cleaning and maintenance
Regularly cleaning and maintaining the fiber laser marking machine can help extend its service life and ensure the marking effect. After marking, gently wipe the surface of the equipment with a clean soft cloth to remove dust and debris. Regularly clean the marking workbench to prevent the accumulation of debris from affecting the marking accuracy. At the same time, according to the equipment manual requirements, regular maintenance should be carried out on key components such as lasers and mirrors, such as cleaning lenses and checking fiber optic connections.
Mastering the marking method of fiber laser marking machine requires continuous exploration and accumulation of experience in practice. By strictly following the above steps and paying attention to equipment maintenance, we believe that you will be able to fully utilize the performance of the fiber laser marking machine and achieve high-quality marking results.
